Corrugated Knives

In the woodworking industry, a corrugated knife is a type of machine knife with a series of parallel ridges or grooves (corrugations) on its non-cutting edge. These corrugations are designed to fit into matching grooves in a cutterhead (typically a moulder or shaper head), allowing for a secure, non-slip, and safe clamping system. The primary purpose of the corrugated back is to allow the use of a wide range of custom profiles, such as unique crown mouldings, baseboards, or panel raisers, and to securely hold the knife in place, preventing it from slipping under the high cutting forces involved in shaping these wood pieces.
